By the middle of the Victorian era, technology had evolved to allow a series of photographs to be taken many times per second, thus creating the first films, or motion pictures. It took many years to develop this into a practical system. It wasn’t until the late nineteenth century that inventions from people such as William Friese-Green and W.K.L.
